by Shelby Breitmann cross and scripture

Do you ever feel trapped, surrounded by darkness and doubt without any trickle of sunlight or hope? I imagine that is how the followers of Jesus felt as they watched him dying on a rough wooden cross. I imagine that Vi Bella artisans have felt these emotions too, they are people familiar with suffering.

But the beautiful thing about the story of Jesus? It doesn’t end with the cross. Easter comes.

Just as Easter brings hope and salvation, and spring brings flowers and warmth, Vi Bella brings stability, Christianity and hope into the lives of its artisans, ambassadors and staff. Vi Bella jewelry is born out of dark places. Trash and depression are transformed:   turned into jewelry and hope.

Anoise, a Vi Bella artisan at the One Vision Center in Haiti says it better than I ever could:

Anoise

“My work represents a garden. I am the seed planted here, and God is reaping and harvesting me towards my destiny”

(The cross necklace above is The Bernice and the statement necklace is The Mc Kenna, both  from the new Spring Vi Bella catalog).

Hi! I’m Shelby, aShelby Breitmann | Vi Bella Jewelry Style Blogger junior in high school and a fashion enthusiast who loves repurposing thrift store finds into high fashion outfits. Vi Bella Jewelry inspires me because it is fashion with a purpose and I love hearing the stories of hope from the artisans Vi Bella employs. An avid theater lover, I can be seen onstage in local Christian community theater, church choir and performing with my school’s show choir. I have a heart for those in need and hope to one day work with special-needs children. I believe in a Jeremiah 29:11 kind of future. “ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
